  • Replacement for the rare ABLON template: Replica of the Leitz film trimming template catalogue no. 14126 (produced 1931–1964) for the long film leader on Barnack bottom loaders, just as useful as the original, without the collector's price.
  • Precisely dimensioned film leader: Guides the blade exactly along the contour, so the leader gets the correct shape for the transport mechanism of the screw mount camera.
  • Can be taken apart for cleaning: Opens up so you can quickly remove film shavings and scraps after cutting.

Compatibility

Fits all Leica LTM (Barnack) cameras and their copies, including:

  • Leica: I, II, III, IIIa, IIIb, IIIc, IIId, IIIf, IIIg
  • Fed: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
  • Zorki: 1, 2, 3, 4, 4K
  • Leotax: Original, Elite, T, F
  • Nicca: 3-S, 3-F, Type-5
  • Canon: Early rangefinder models (LTM)

Note on the set variant: The Quick Load spool only fits up to the Leica IIIf, not the IIIg.

What's included

Description

The original Leica ABLON template (Leitz catalogue no. 14126) for the long film leader on your Barnack camera is now a rare and expensive collector's item. This film trimmer is the functional replica, a repeatable solution for cutting the long film leader that these bottom loaders need for loading into the transport mechanism.

Use a sharp, narrow blade (e.g. a scalpel) and cut carefully along the guide so as not to damage the plastic. Alternatively, you can use it purely as a marking template: trace the contour with a pen, remove the template and cut along the marking with scissors. Before loading, make sure no film shavings are stuck to the material; the template can be taken apart to remove them.

  2. RolfVerified purchase

Nice tool. Does what it promises.

  3. Thorsten H.Verified

Sehr freundlicher Service und ein tolles Tool

Prompte Lieferung und gut gemachtes Tool

  4. Antje B.Verified

Preiswerter als das Original und genauso nützlich. Buchung unkompliziert, Lieferung schnell. Alles Top 👍

  5. Joachim S.Verified

    Leica II / III Filmschablone

Die Schablone erleichtert den Filmanschnitt ganz erheblich. Eventuell könnte ein Klappmechanismus das Handlivg erleichtern, der "vorgerollte" Film ist schon ein wenig widerspenstig.

  6. eques

Very good price when compared with the alternative, the Leica Ablon. Simplifies trimming of the film leader for use with Leica screw mount cameras.

After a purchase we ask for a review by email. New reviews appear automatically; we read them afterwards and never remove one because of its star rating. “Verified purchase” means the review came through the review link of an order in our shop. “Verified” marks older reviews that our previous review service, Judge.me, had labelled as verified. Reviews imported from Amazon are labelled and not included in the average. How we collect and check reviews
