We found the film scanners available on the market to be too bulky, complex, and above all too expensive. So our designer Lars simply developed this minimalist film holder for scanning or digitizing 110 pocket film negatives (16 mm width).

The part consists of 3 pieces:

1. Baseplate
2. Topplate
3. Common household rubber bands

The function is very simple:

  1. Place the topplate on the baseplate
  2. Fix with rubber bands
  3. Press the two parts apart at the small side notches
  4. Insert film
  5. Place on a suitable light source (we ourselves use a battery-powered LED light panel with a good CRI rating)
  6. Clamp DSLR, mirrorless, or smartphone on a tripod
  7. Scan
  8. Done!
