Description

The original Leica ABLON template (Leitz catalog no. 14126) for the long film trim on your Barnack camera is now a rare and expensive collector’s item. This film cutter is the functional replica — a repeatable solution to trim the long film edge that these bottom-loaders need to fit into the transport mechanism.

Use a sharp, narrow blade (e.g., a scalpel) and carefully cut along the guide to avoid damaging the plastic. Alternatively, use it as a marking template only: mark the contour with a pen, remove the template, and cut along the marking with scissors. Before loading, make sure no film shavings stick to the material — the template can be disassembled for easy cleaning.
