This is usually because the original 1.35V mercury batteries (PX1/MR50) are no longer available and modern 1.5V alkaline batteries confuse the electronics. This adapter solves the problem permanently.

It allows the use of affordable 675 zinc-air hearing aid batteries, which naturally provide a constant voltage of 1.35V – exactly what your camera was made for. The adapter ensures a proper mechanical fit, the battery provides the correct voltage. The set comes with the matching batteries so you can start right away.
